2009 World Youth Chess Championships

The 2009 World Youth Chess Championships was held in Antalya/Turkey from the 11th -23rd of November. We had two very notable top placings. In the U8, the top seed was Candidate Master Jorian Jared Acosta Cubides (2015). In the U12, the top seed was untitled Suri Vaibhav (2344).

1st FM Bobby Cheng (2202) with 9/11 (Under 12 World Champion)
2nd-4th FM Jan-Krzysztof Duda (2079), Richard Wang (2044) and David Paravyan (2021) with 8.5/11

2008 World Youth Chess Championships

The 2008 World Youth Chess Championships, held in Vung Tau, Vietnam, from the 19th-31st of October, has finished. World Youth Chess Championships 2008

The 2008 World Youth Chess Championships in Vietnam is currently under way. According to the website, at least 6 rounds have been played so far.

Juniors representing Australia include Gene Nakauchi (2104), James Morris (2087), Eugene Schön (2066), Andrew Brown (2013), Jonas Muller (1998) and more. You can check out the full list of players and results up to round 6 at the Chess-Results page for this tournament.
