The 2010 Victorian Open Chess Championships was held at Box Hill Chess Club (Melbourne) over the Queen's Birthday long weekend June 12th-14th. There was a strong turnout of 89 players. That top seed was Grandmaster David Smerdon (2511).

1st-2nd FM Bobby Cheng (2280), FM Erik Teichmann (2321)
3rd-4th GM David Smerdon, Christopher Wallis (2130)
