The 2008 Brighton Grammar Chess Cup was held on the 30th of May, as part of a larger Chess Victoria Interschool Chess tournament. The venue was Brighton Grammar School, and it has been one of the strongest tournaments held at the school. Scotch College won the event.

3rd Melbourne High School (1)
Individual placings were
1st Eugene Schön (1878) 7/7
2nd/3rd Zhigen Lin (2104), Nicholas Liu (1426) 6.5/7
