The 2009 Canterbury Summer Swiss was held at the Box Hill Chess Club (Melbourne) from the 27th-29th of December. It was a 7-round swiss tournament, which was both ACF and FIDE-rated. Top seed was Samuel Chow (2328).

2nd-4th Igor Dyment (2125), Domagoj Dragicevic (2137) and Leon Kempen (1867) on 5.5/7
